About

-->Incorporated in 1979, the Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports the ten branches, Outreach programs and Bookmobile in the Santa Cruz City-County Library System. The Scotts Valley chapter was formed in June 2009 with a mission to support the Scotts Valley Library and the Santa Cruz County Public Library System. The group heads up fundraising to outfit the new Scotts Valley Library with materials, furnishings and equipment that will serve the entire community.

The Scotts Valley library has the second highest checkout rate of any library in the 10-branch Santa Cruz public library system. The new Scotts Valley library will finally be large enough to serve our community. The city of Scotts Valley has provided enough funds for the building only. The Scotts Valley chapter of the Friends of the Library is seeking donations in order to provide children’s programs, state of the art technology, and efficient study areas. The new library will include comfortable reading areas and a meeting room complete with a fireplace that will serve as a facility for use by community organizations to gather.

Opened June 18 - 251 Kings Village Rd, Scotts Valley, CA 95066

Message from Past Chapter President
What an exciting time to be in Scotts Valley! Using a recycled building and numerous green strategies, we can build a beautiful, modern facility that we can all be proud of for decades to come. I encourage you to get involved with your time and your means to personalize this facility. Our only limits are what we can raise in a very short time. Whether it is a chair, a quote on the wall or the naming of the children's area, consider leaving a legacy that illustrates what we have here in Scotts Valley.
