Fundraiser: Libraries, Foster Children & Quilts

Friends of the Scotts Valley Library and New Families are hosting a reception to spotlight the installation of a handmade quilt, titled “Enchanted Garden,” created by the award-winning quilting group, North Coast Needlers. The event will feature Assemblyman Mark Stone, author of landmark legislation AB403, and the staff of New Families, who will discuss the legislative changes in the Foster Care System.

These images are the winning entries in the Third Annual  “The Essence of Scotts Valley” Photography Contest, a competition sponsored by the Scotts Valley Arts Commission, Jesse Gabriel Photography and Bay Photo of Scotts Valley. Open to photographers of all ages, this event is designed to pay photographic tribute to the uniqueness of Scotts Valley.  While categories for submitting work are not absolute, suggestions for participants were Scotts Valley people, events, landscapes, city scenes and wildlife.
