California Creatures have crept into the Scotts Valley
Library! On April 26 the Library’s ‘Art in the Library’ program revealled its
newest installation that celebrates the extreme variety of creatures that live
in California. The showing features the work of celebrated local artists, as
well as the talents of students from the Santa Cruz Children’s School.
The public is invited to meet the artists at our Artist Reception:
- Saturday, May 24, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
- Scotts Valley Library
Refreshments will be served compliments of Laureen
Yungmeyer of State Farm. Music will be provided by Howie Kimel.
Local artists in the spotlight for California Creatures
include:
- Dianne Bollentini
- Nana Montgomery
- Micqaela Jones
- Judy Bingman
- Linda Lord
- Jacob Sackin
Additionally, Julia Blyumen will present selected pieces by
young artists from the Santa Cruz Children’s School. The arts are a cornerstone
of the school’s K-6 academic program.
California has a remarkable diversity of habitats and animal species, and many of us have a very emotional bond with animals and wildlife,. We invite everyone in the local community to take a look at how our local artists, including budding student artists, celebrate California’s creatures.
