Don't Miss "A Tropical Tale"

Don't miss the 2nd Annual Library Auction and Barbeque! This year promises to be even more fun than last for this wonderful community event. Vice Mayor Dene Bustichi will be sharing his barbequing talents once again and the tropical theme is sure to help us all feel the "aloha spirit".

Wonderful live and silent auction items will be sold to raise funds for the new Scotts Valley Library. There will be live entertainment, wonderful food and the opportunity to be a part of this terrific addition to our community. The event gets underway at 5:30pm on Saturday, September 11th at the Scotts Valley Community Center. A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased for $40 at Mollies, Mint, The Scotts Valley Library and the Chamber of Commerce.

Great Groundbreaking Event!

The Friends of Library encourages everyone to buy a ticket
for the Auction on Sep. 11 or buy a tile for the entry way.
Mayor Jim Reed takes the first swing at the demolition!
The community came out for an exciting groundbreaking for the new Scotts Valley library on Saturday. 50-60 people were on hand as the City Councilmembers swung sledgehammers to officially commence the re-building project. By the time you're reading this, the remodeling work has already begun and will continue through April 2011. After a month or two for move-in, we'll have a brand new library almost three times the size of our current one by June, 2011. Especially exciting is that it will have areas specially designed for teens as well as young children. We still need your help to make sure ours is a fantastic library from day one. Please buy a tile to inscribe your support in the tile entryway and help us raise the funds needed for the "extras" we need like upgraded furniture, a fireplace, media wall, laptop computers and more!
